The Wild Alderman is Didsbury’s home of independent beer and hearty food. We pour 14 hand picked brews on tap, with a proud connection to our Beartown brewing heritage. It is all about quality, character and community.
Our name honours Fletcher Moss, Didsbury’s most curious alderman, remembered for his love of the wild and flair for the unusual. In his spirit, we celebrate the local, raise a glass to good company, and keep things warm, welcoming and just a little offbeat.
Sign up and become a Wild One to get first dibs on events, secret suppers, wild new menus, and a birthday treat
(because you’re one of us now).
This isn’t spam; it’s the good stuff, just like we pour.
Sundays are made for slowing down and digging into hearty classics. Think generous roasts, all the trimmings, and a relaxed atmosphere soundtracked by live, mellow Sunday folk music.

Great question. The Wild Alderman is your neighbourhood taphouse and eatery in East Didsbury.
We’re a space full of character and charm, with a carefully curated mix of local suppliers and world-class products. Think relaxed drinks with friends, comforting dishes done right and a vibe that feels familiar but fresh. Something you can truly call your local.
You’ll find us at the top end of Wilmslow Road, right by Parsonage Gardens, nestled between Ye Olde Cock Inn and The Didsbury.
We’re on Google Maps too, so feel free to add us to your favourites.
Absolutely. We have a fantastic chef at the helm, creating a menu that celebrates flavour, comfort and quality.
There’s something for everyone, whether you’re popping in for a casual brunch-style bite or settling in for a long lunch or dinner with friends.
Yes. We’re dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry companions along. We’re always happy to welcome them.
While we’re proudly owned by the team behind Beartown Brewery, and you’ll definitely find plenty of Beartown beers on the bar, we’re not a single-brewery taproom.
We believe in variety, discovery and the joy of a perfectly poured pint. You can expect a rotating line-up of keg and cask from some of the most exciting breweries in the UK and beyond.
Yes, we allow under 18’s until 7pm with adults. We serve a children’s menu too and have high chairs available.
Currently, for larger tables due to size limitations of the pub the maximum dining table we can accommodate is 12 people.
We recommend booking at least 7 days ahead. We always keep a few tables for walk-ins, but they go fast. Book early to avoid disappointment!
We love hearing from curious folk. Use the form below to drop us a message, and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Or, better yet, swing by and say hello – we’re just around the corner from Fletcher Moss and The Parsonage Gardens.
